Post Report error: always counts original strings not translated
Statistic/Report error:
I received the translated texts from the translator and imported these into the project.
Then, to count the character number of the translated text I created a report.
But the report always counts the number of the original text - independently of the translation language (e.g., "total" is always identical)!

1) This seems to be a bug.

2) How can I count the translated characters (incl spaces and special characters) to calculate the translation costs?

I am using the newest LL version 7.1. enterprise edition.

Regards,
TimTom

Hello.

Lingobit counts the number of characters and words of original items - it's normal scheme to calculate paying.
"Total" - it is the sum of all items (translated and not translated). To calculate how much was translated you should sum items with all statuses except "Not translated", "Locked" and "New".

For example you've got this report:

Status Name | Words
Complete | 1
In Process | 1
Not Translated | 1
Unique | 3
Duplicated | 0
Total | 3

You have 1 word "Complete", 1 word "In process", 1 word "Not translated".
So it will be 2 words translated.

If you need to count words and characters of exactly target language (though it's not a common way), we can add it as a feature in future release.

Regards,
Alexander.

Hello Alexander,

thank you for the explanations.
I think counting the characters of the target language would be a very useful feature!
I am working with several translators for different languages. They all count the characters (including spaces and special characters!) of the translated texts when they finally calculate the costs (to me it seems to be the common way).

TimTom
